The Inner Peace Framework

An integrated approach to whole-person healing

Four guiding principles shape every session — a steady throughline beneath the practices and conversations we use along the way.

Open Up

Compassionately explore your thoughts, emotions, and physical experiences without judgment.

Be Present

Slow down, regulate your nervous system, and reconnect with the present moment through experiential practices tailored to your individual needs.

Trust Yourself

Develop confidence in your inner wisdom, values, and authentic self so decisions come from clarity instead of fear.

Live With Purpose

Align your daily choices with what matters most, turning insight into meaningful, values-driven action.

Focus Areas

What I help with

Common reasons clients come to Inner Peace Counseling. Your experience doesn't have to fit neatly into a category.

  • Anxiety, overwhelm, and nervous system dysregulation
  • Burnout, chronic stress, and high-functioning exhaustion
  • Life transitions, identity shifts, and spiritual exploration
  • Grief, loss, and processing difficult experiences
  • Self-criticism, perfectionism, and reconnecting with self-compassion
  • Trauma-informed support for clients ready for body-based work

What Sessions Are Like

Evidence-based therapy, woven with experiential practice

Every session is individualized to your goals and preferences. The foundation is evidence-based psychotherapy — primarily Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy — paired with experiential practices that help insight become lived experience.

Depending on what's most supportive, a session may include mindfulness, grounding, breathwork, guided imagery, somatic awareness, or energy healing to support nervous system regulation, emotional processing, and deeper self-awareness.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

A values-based, evidence-supported approach that helps you make room for difficult thoughts and feelings while taking action toward what matters most to you.

Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)

Builds your capacity for self-compassion and soothes the inner critic — especially helpful for shame, perfectionism, and harsh self-talk.

Mindfulness & Grounding

Practical, accessible practices that help you slow down, return to the present moment, and develop a steadier relationship with your inner experience.

Breathwork & Guided Imagery

Gentle, regulating practices that help you settle the nervous system and access deeper states of calm and clarity.

Somatic Awareness

Body-centered attention that helps you notice and process emotions, sensations, and stored stress — supporting integration of mind and body.

Reiki & Energy Healing

Optional, gentle energy practices offered when aligned with your goals. Supports relaxation and nervous system regulation. Never required.

Is This a Fit?

Who Inner Peace Counseling is for

A good fit if…

  • You're open to integrating mindfulness, body awareness, or spiritual exploration into therapy
  • You want more than talk — you want practices that help insight land in your body
  • You value a slower, intentional pace and a grounded, professional space
  • You're located in Virginia (in-person or telehealth)

Not the right fit if…

  • You're in active crisis or need urgent psychiatric care — please call 988 or visit your nearest ER
  • You're looking strictly for short-term, symptom-focused cognitive behavioral therapy with no experiential element
  • You're seeking couples or family therapy (Dr. Polinsky offers that work at Communicate & Connect Counseling)
