What certified out-of-network means
Being certified out-of-network with TRICARE means TRICARE has approved me as a recognized provider even though I am not in their network. You pay a capped rate at the time of service rather than my full private-pay rate, then submit a superbill to TRICARE for partial reimbursement.
TRICARE Prime beneficiaries generally need a specific referral from their primary care manager for out-of-network care. If you have TRICARE Prime and want to explore this, reach out and we can talk through your options.

Your rate per session
115% of TRICARE’s maximum allowable amount, paid at the time of service.
- 60-minute individual counseling session: $143.28
- Initial psychiatric evaluation: $148.70
How reimbursement works
After each session you receive a superbill to submit to TRICARE. TRICARE typically reimburses part of the amount within 90 days, minus what your standard copay would be.
